Exercising with a 15 year old!
How many of you are still competitive as a mid-30's something with children. I worked out with my daughter with the wii fit and found that I still want to win and win badly. Even though I really wanted to win, it didn't necessarily happen, but I gave it my best shot. We worked a little on the wii fit doing the yoga part. We didn't spend much time on the wii fit yoga but we did spend a great deal of time using the wii, for playing the hula-hoop and we also ran quite a bit as well. The running didn't go so well for me, my daughter smoked me on the wii fit running but I did well on the hula-hoop. I felt as though I may kill over toward the end but it was fun to work out with someone else, especially my lovely daughter. Hope you have a great day.

Using a Video Game to Exercise - Today's Special Guest, My Nephew!
Good Morning,
Today is a great day. Today I decided to exercise a little with my nephew that is 2 1/2 years old. It was very interesting to see him using the video games and being excited about them. We started with the stretches and aerobics. He really like to run and we traded off and on with the hula hoop portion of the game. He really likes the sports, especially basketball and boxing. He did much better than I and he understands the games as well. I can see why young people enjoy these games, it is much more enjoyable than just regular jogging or working out. Well have a great day!

Weight Loss Playing Video Games
Good morning,
This was a rough morning. I am still using the video game console to work out. I first started out with the yoga; to stretch then went to run for 9 minutes; then did the hula for 6 min, that's probably my favorite. I did the lunge and side stretch and finished with more yoga for my abs. The running and the lunges seem to hurt my foot and back the most.
About 3 years ago I was roofing my house and fell off, it was about a 20-foot drop. I am lucky to be alive but I have a few injuries; I have 5 pins and a medal plate that put my foot back together.
If you have any tips or hints on making exercising not so painful please let me know. Because of lack of exercise and old age (37) I have gotten to be 33 lbs over weight. So please help me on my way to get back to the right size.

Lose Weight continued, Video Gaming
Last night was the first night of our plan. We started by playing a video game. We chose the video game instead of jogging because it is cold where we live and we both feel a little like a hamster on a wheel when we use a treadmill, talk about monotonous. So the video game it was, specifically the boxing. It was a blast and we did get a good cardio workout and we are both a little sore this morning. While using the controllers, one in each hand we could box with our characters. There are a few tips to get a better work out if you are using this video game. First, stretch and make sure your muscles are warm before playing. Second, make sure you jog in place as you are playing; it makes for a much better cardio workout.
We will be updating this Lose Weight thread weekly, so there is more to come…
Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Lose Weight, Our Journey Starts Now!
After starting a blog we weren’t quit sure which topic we would first like to tackle. A little video gaming with our children’s new video game console made it perfectly clear. As we set-up to play, we soon realized that it uses a persons height and weight to create the little character. Our characters were a little, okay a lot, on the chubby side. To say the least it was a little disheartening. At that point we made a pledge to lose weight. Both being former athletes in our late thirties, we had some idea of what it would take. The equation for losing weight is simple input is less than output equals weight loss. The equation for losing weight is simple; it is the actual weight loss that is difficult. We knew we would have to come up with a plan.
We have named it the Chubby-Mini-Me-Plan. The plan is as follows:
Watch what we eat-
We know that to lose weight we need to moderate our intake, we will eat healthy and keep a journal of our daily intake. We will try to keep intake to 1800 or fewer calories a day.
Exercise-
We will make time, at least thirty minutes a day, to exercise. We will jog, walk, and play the video game console that made us want to lose weight. We want to see the little mini me get a little less chubby.
More to come...
